You can explore the mine with a guide or by yourself with a guidebook as orientation. In any case the tour starts with a short animation film about the history of the mine. In case you decide to have a guide, you will have enough time after the guidance to explore the mine by yourself as well.

In any case you should schedule about 1,5 h for that.

To explore the shafts and  pits inside is really fascinating. It is unbelievable if  you imagine that all the mine was worked out by hand with very simple tools, the help of  fire and water and even black powder as an exploder. Inside the mine you also get stimulated to remember old fairy tales about mythical creatures like trolls.

Notice:  The mine is inspected every year before the season starts.

On the area there is a very small exhibition that shows pictures and documents, equipment and tools from the time when mining took place here.

The spooky night tour in the mine starts after the nightfall or according to the appointment. You get helmets, torches and a task for every group which you have to deal with in the unlighted mine.

Staying overnight in a bivouac is exciting itself. Sleeping in a sleeping bag in the nature, side by side with the classmates after  a bonfire in the darkness makes this night unforgettable.

To compete with and against each other in the “gruvcamp” demands not only strengh and quickness but knowledge and cooperation as well.

We offer different treasurehunts inside and outside the mine. Each one who took part in that activity successfully gets a small treasure in the end to take home.

To find gold by the technique of panning is exciting and demands patience.  You get a pan and instruction as well as a vial for collecting the gold pieces you have found.  If you are patient and lucky you will probably find some pieces of genuine gold in the glacial sediments which you can take with you home.

Our 9 m high climbing wall is a challenge. Belayed with a safety rope you can test your climbing abilities.

You can order food (breakfast or barbecue) but you can as well take your own food with you and use our barbecue places and wooden tables.
